Just wanted to introduce myself....
I just purchased my first cap-lock and am looking forward to the new experience. It is a custom .54 using a Green Mountain barrel and curly maple stock, Hawken style. I am as green as grass so I am looking forward to getting some knowledge from you all. You will most likely see some stupid questions coming from me but if you don't ask you wont know.....
So there it is in a nut shell....
keep your powder dry. :hatsoff:

I'm in a small town called Fort Lupton. interesting enough little place. it started as a trading fort for fur trappers in 1836 and the fort was just rebuilt on the original site over the last couple of years. they have a pretty cool rendezvous once a year that shuts the whole town down pretty much.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancaster_Lupton

Thanks for the welcomes....

Colo-54, welcome. I did not know Fort Lupton's fur trade bona fides. I have been near, but not through your town, but will be sure to see it next time I visit my kid brother in Boulder. Some really fine folks her from Colorado. I expect Mike Brines in Longmont will be along shortly.

Welcome!
If you're not already a member, the SPVHS and the associated Tallow River Trappers and Ft Lupton Muzzleloading Club are great organizations to join. The FMLC has two monthly shoots and the lowest membership fees I've ever paid. See you at Frozen Toes, 2/22-24, the first of about 5 rondys sponsored by TRT during the year.

Ed... I am not a member yet. I have been trying to get a hold of someone to get the dues to but haven't figured out who that is or how to find them. I am planning on the toes rondy so you'll have to let me know how to find you.

Welcome, it's nice to see this traditional bp life is gaining interest, and new converts!

Howdy Colo-54
Nice rifle. Good folks in Ft.Lupton. I've been to a few shoots at Ft.Lupton. Thats where the CSLMA State shoot is on Labor Day weeked. The Colorado State Muzzle Loading Association used to hold the Winter convention at the school there for several years. If you can make it to Denver in about 10 days from now Feb 16th and 17th at the Holiday Inn Denver East. You can find all the info you need on www.csmla.org. Hope to see you there.
