Howdy from Sunriver (near Bend) Oregon! New to the forum and to BP. I've plinked before with someone else's guns and someone else loading. Now I have a Hawken .50 and a Kentucky .45 that I want to learn how to shoot and maintain. I've already learned a whole lot from this forum before joining, and looking forward to learning a lot more!

Thanx!

Welcome

I do go through your round-about at Sunriver a couple times a year on my way to Crane.

Welcome! You have already discovered the treasure trove of info here; only thing I might add is to try to find a club/group that you can shoot with to gain more hands-on training.

Thanks! It's a pretty place...a little cold in the winter with all the snow and ice, but it's nice to have the seasons. All the nearby fishing lakes make it nice too.

I got the name of a guy who belongs to a couple black powder clubs in C.O. He's in Redmond, a short drive from here. One club is a small one that is supposed to be good about teaching novices like me. I'm checking it out this week.
