I've had beavers on the property for many years. Normally they chew down willows and water beech and poplars no bigger than fist sized that they can drag to the den for later dining. I came upon a couple of trees today while turkey hunting that suggest we now have a more ambitious crop of rodents to deal with. I'm thinking that only a single beaver of this sort might make a warm winter coat....

That is a shame. It's time for beaver target shooting.

I’ve trapped plenty of beaver in my time. To bad, the pelt is past it’s prime for this season. Next winter would be a different story though….
