Sounds like the government seized Paul Bunyon's lead stash for past due back taxes...

Or maybe somebody told a bunch of government employees to get the lead out of their a$$! :hmm:

Melt it into sheets and line your roof and walls with it. It'll bounce those thought control signals right off your house.

BTW, I'd love to do a group buy but the shipping to Kalifornistan would kill me. I wonder if we could get it loaded onto a railcar for distribution for those of us in the Socialist Stronghold?

Well, you didn't tell us they were already in little bitty bars!

Why, let's see now, 4000 pounds per pallet...that would make about 4 half ton pickum-up truck loads...and about 10 pallets...that would make about 40 trips.
Now it's about 2200 miles from there to here an I have to drive both ways so that's 4400 miles times 40 trips...so that would be...176,000 miles.
My original 1978 GMC pickum-up truck gets 10 miles to the gallon so that ole truck would drink...17,600 gallons of gas. :hmm:
17,600 gallons at $3/gallon... that would cost me $52800.00. Still cheap but my poor ole pick-um up truck would end up with over 274,000 miles on her clock.

I think I'll pass on this one. :(

If Smokey and the Bandit can bootleg Coors Beer to the East, I am sure some renegade trucker would take the challenge and haul all that lead to the West coast for a reasonable fee...

10 cents a mile to anywhere, no questions asked, if memory serves...

In ther early 70's, I was a starving college kid in SoCal. I was driving down PCH near the Terminal Island Shipyard when an 18 wheeler with Navy markings pulling a flatbed, pulled out from a side street. In making the turn too wide he clipped the curb and something fell off the trailer and landed in the grass. Being the curious type, I stopped to see what it was. One of the large bars just like in the pictures above, was laying partially buried in the soil. It was marked with the weight (102 lbs) and was marked Doe Run Mine. I had a muzzleloading addiction that kept me broke, and knew I had a little treasure in lead at my feet. I worked in a muzzleloading gun store in Anaheim at the time and had molds and melting pots at my disposal. It took me many years to shoot up all that lead. I never felt guilty about it, as I figured my dads taxes had probably paid for it! :haha:
