I posted pics in the replacememt ram rod thread but thought this might be a better place to show it. It`s 3/8th diamiter, 45 inches long, threaded 10-32 for cleaning jag. I made a knurled knob for the top that`s set screwed into a groove so it spins.
Should work good as a target and cleaning rod. :)

PitchyPine,
I would think that most here that are
range shooters have a 'range rod'. I do and only
range shoot maybe 6 or 8 times a year.
Is there a range where a range rod is
not permitted because it is not PC that are
not PC events. If it is a strictly PC event
then I completely understand.

I thought it turnned out nice and that the spinner knob was a neat touch.
I make most of my own stuff and posted because i thought some here might like to see it.
No replies told me there must be a reason nobody posted so that`s why i said what i said.
My mistake.

snake-eyes, I thought this was the craftmans forum and this is where hand made things were supposed to be posted. :hmm:

PC, not PC...doesnt matter. You made it and are proud of it. I would be likewise! It is nice!, way nicer than the ones I make( fiber rod with a pool ball handle and 30.06 casing for the end drilled and tapped 10/32)
but they float my boat, I made it, others want them, it works and didnt cost much.

Our big shoots tend to be PC to a point...but our monthly stuff, I have not been told to leave the billiard ball home!

You did just fine and it does look nice!

 Your rod is fancier than the custom brass range rods I made. Nice job on it. Mine are like yours except I just put a threaded on "T" brass handle on mine, and a sliding bore guide. Your spinner knob is a great idea.

"No replies"... FWIW, it often takes much longer than the less than 2 hours you waitied between your posts for a new palaver to get a response on these forums, sometimes even a day or two.

well i think the rod is really nice and practical i am hesitant to reply to any subjuct anymore that has the words"period correct" :shake: most of the time when i do i get bashed for it, :haha: anyway great job are you going to market these? :hmm:

Thanks for the compliments, i wasn`t trying to be a smart arse about the PC statement, i was really not sure if it belonged here. Other than that i probably jumped the gun about replies and apologize.
Opener rifle season in the morn so wish me luck on dropping a white tail with this smoke pole. :v

I have a period correct billiard ball on the end of mine. :haha:

A friend ground a flat -- taking off one number and then milled a hole into the flat. Then epoxied a rod into that. He threaded the end for jags. Works great.
