Home brew. Moose snot and moose milk, Stuppys of course. I like it alot. I have used bore butter in the past and have also liked it.

I've been using a batch of Moose Juice I worked up for a lube and I like it just fine. As soon as I get a chance I'll work up some Moose Snot and give it a try.

equal parts bees wax, crisco, and olive oil for ball lube and murfy's and alcahol for cleanin'

Just made a batch of Moose Snot, and it looks good. I hope to get out over the holidays for some trials.

I have been a believer in Crisco for a long time. It is readily available, breaks up crud easily and I think is legal in NY. Free of trans-fat and all that sort of thing you know.
:rotf:

I have been using Crisco recently and found it works good but I shot a few with just a spit patch and could not see any disadvantage with accuracy. I think I need to try it a bit more but I think just plain old spit my be all that is needed.

Seems to me the original question was about "accuracy" with various lubes. I've never gotten better accuracy than with plain old spit with just a touch of chewing tobacco, "Southern Pride" by name. I use much thicker patching than most people, canvas or old blue jean legs running .028-.034" with a ball .010" under bore diameter. With that tight load spit is the only lube that allows me to shoot a match without swabbing the bore. For hunting I use deer tallow or sheep tallow. Accuracy is about as good as spit but it is very hard to load more than twice without swabbing.

A good spit of your favorite chaw on a couple miniature marshmellows is good catfish bait too. This is where the water is too deep to shoot them! :rotf:

My best accuracy is with a ballistol, water mix for a dry lube.
It's to hard to load for a second shot so when hunting I use mink oil from TOW.
I get half to three quarter inch groups at 50yrds with mink oil.
Latley I have been experimenting with home tallows and found a two to one deer tallow to marmot oil has the same accuracy as mink oil.
When shooting off hand compitions I use lehigh lube also from TOW.
:hatsoff:

Naw them's pasture griz. :winking:

No doubt about pasture griz!!! I shot a marmot this fall that bottomed out my grandmothers kitchen scale that goes to 25 lbs.
Biggest rock pig I have ever nailed with my 36.
Big enough to feed a whole rondyvoo and enough fat to fill a mason jar once it was rendered down :shocked2:
