Honking Big Bill Mowrey Benchrest Rifle

Not sure what possessed me to buy this, but was intrigued that it was built by Bill Mowrey. This .54 underhammer bench rifle has a 36x1.5 barrel, not counting false muzzle. Scope blocks for full length scope. Single set trigger. The beast weighs a hair over 20 lbs. I'm assuming the BR 002 is a HeeHaw phone number. More likely Mowrey's second bench rifle. Not even sure who to market something like this to.

My guess would be before he started producing his brass frame production Mowrey rifles

A little out of my wheelhouse. I am lucky if I make a couple of primitive events, much less someplace with bench competitions.

Nice!! All that baby needs is a Redfield International sight on the back & a globe up front. I would definitely take her for a test run.
