I just received a Hopkins & Allen kit ( in the white) a la Deer Creek through Wild Ed. I have to laugh at the Deer Creek pamphelet I have which states " needs only moderate sanding and finishing"---the stock and fore end need more than just sanding---no problemo I'm a woodcarver---any suggestions or advise for my new project will be greatfully accepted.How far do I go in trying to polish the barrel? How simple is the firing mechanism to strip? Any special procedures needed to strip the firing mechanism and reassembly? etc. :thanks:
