Well after completing my Chamber's Fowler kit, I decided I needed a sword, bag and horn to compliment my fowler.
This is my first horn, I did a little scrimshaw work on it. I put a compass rose on the body, and some simple lines and triangles around the base and along the engrailing. I did it all with hand tools, and used a scraper to finish the horn body and plug.
The hunting sword I forged from a planer blade I had, and formed the guard from mild steel and turned a wood handle. The blade it peened into place through the guard and handle to hold it tight.
The shooting bag I made small to carry well. It is 8"x8", In a D style. I made it out of some cow hide I have. I originally made a bag for the fowler out of pig skin, but found the pig skin was too light for my fowler gear.
I made a small shot bag and shot measure by turning some antler on my lathe.
I think it all turned out pretty well. Matt
Sorry, the flash makes eveything look a little wavy.
