Recently broke out my 50 cal TC High Plains Sporter that I have not shot in probably 20 years. Wanted to fill a doe permit with it and bought some Hornady Great Plains 385 grn. bullets that I used to shoot in it years ago. I went to the range with all my other stuff poured 90 grains of FFG in and went to seat the bullet. Holy manure never had that much of an issue getting one to go in. Once it was seated into the muzzle fully it went in fine but I really had to work at it. Shot it again today same issue. Have these bullets changed over the years? They used to go in fairly easily. I got 5 more boxes from Midway before tried the box from the gun store so I'm hoping I can use them! TY

The problem is it isn't pure lead if not pure at most 40-1 bring a hammer ! I cast the Lyman plains (same profile and it goes down with an easy push on a short starter or my rifle ramrod in 50 + 54 cal and I target shoot 200yds and hunting kill stuff not quite as far . Let me know by PM if you want to try some ,it will no longer be a problem/Ed

That's funny I did use a hammer today couple taps! I would like to try some let me know how to go about doing that. Joe
