How do I soften epoxy

Hey Gang:
I have a nice antler handle with a busted off straight razor epoxied in, do I have to drill it? Any way to soften the epoxy?

Heat.

Jabsco also sells a product that will dissolve epoxy, but probebly would etch the antler, too.

You could put a flame on the stub of the rasor and give it a pull (with pliers as soon as the epoxy gets soft. Whatever epoxy left over you can drill out to size. Epoxy does get soft with heat. GC

Depends, JB Weld epoxy has a working temperature of over 600 dgrees F.
