How do you carry your muzzleloader pistol?

With a piece of 4 oz leather, a “holster” is quite easy to make. Here is one that

I rely like the holster for the JAPANESE FLINTER. I have 6 of them and shoot all of them, not at the same time. now I am going to make one. do you have dementions of it?

my belt hook on my gun seems to flop / slide back & forth when walking about, jmho.

I use an over the should holster rig. It has a flap to cover the lock/keep dry. I also put a frizzen stall on it for safety. I don’t always know where that muzzle is pointing when moving about like I do with my long gun. This set up also carries a pistol ram rod I made for my longest barreled pistol. I think it is 14 inches long.

I have a mountain pistol with a clip like this............... It does work but moves around more than I like. A tight belt is needed to keep it fairly well in place (maybe a sash would work?) but the gun is quite exposed. Okay for some uses, beats just shoving a gun into the belt and the few times I've used it I never lost or dropped the gun.

If I am hunting with it, it is in my hands. I only take it out for dense scrub hunting where a rifle is a PITA
Not carrying a rifle and a huge pistol at the same time.

Belt hook, pistol worn on the off side, fast, secure, muzzle pointed down and away. No extra anything to own, attach, carry..

Did you watch the video? The holster is hand stitched and I'm not sure what the wood is, I didn’t make the flintlock.
