I like it, you might thin the area around the lockplate, most originals are really thin, perhaps someone with more advice can chime in. Is your gun a rifle or a trade gun?

Yes the border around the lock should be more narrow.

Your lock panels need to be thinner. That beaver tail also,unless your trying to copy something.
It's hard to tell.from the photo. Your carving looks really deep.
Also hard to tell from the photo, get your gun to final dimensions, and sanded, before you start carving anywhere on the gun.

The lock panels should not be shaped independently of the wrist and forearm. See Dave Person’s builds.

Look at originals, you will find your panels are about 3 times too wide. The nose part at the front of the lock is about right, the beaver tail is a little large.
