I got to thinking (quit snickering, dagnabbit!) and realized that I might be a bit of an anachronism seein' as how I was born at home. Then I thought maybe it wasn't as uncommon an occurence as I imagined, and I was wondering how many of you were birthed at home, by whom (my Grandma and Grandpa helped deliver me...no midwife), and what year. I'm genuinely curious about your replies...sort of a social experiment, if you will.

I was born back in 'ought 33, at home on an Iowa farm. So were all six of my siblings. Think my grandmother delivered me, and maybe the first six of us. I remember my baby sister being born at home, but don't remember grandmother then.

Sheesh, fellas...I can understand why y'all were born at home...the doctor bills woulda' broke your famblies if they went to the horse-spittle every time a young one came along! :shocking: ::
I'm an only child, and I was born in 1969 in the little town of Oldsmar, Florida on Old Tampa Bay. My birthplace on Shore Drive is still there.

Mother had a doctor, don't believe Dad was much help, and I was born at home in rural eastern Maine July 12, 1932. That means I'll be 39 this summer, if my math is correct. graybeard :bull:

Some of you fellers are sick and twisted...I'm so proud to be among ya' (sniff  :master:)!

Two of my sisters were born at home , but
my mother was already at the hospital when I was
born . Both my mother and I were expected to die
in a few days ... guess what happened ...

My father did die 4 month before my birth
and my mother was sent to the " women without
husband " hospital ( with the unwed mothers and
prostitutes . That hospital has been closed
in the '60 . I am the son of a widow and my nursery
companions were genuine sons of .....

Maybe it explains some aspects of my personnality ?
