I am curious how many years of combined experience we have in this group. To make things easier on me to keep a tally, when telling me your time reply like this...

12 years

...and only have the years in the comment with nothing else. Any other discussions are welcome, but anything other than this format will not be counted. I will occasionally post a running total.

I am also doing the same in the Re-enactment section.
44 years.

Sorry to have kept everyone waiting. I've had a lot going on lately.

Here are the updated numbers...

Replies- 303
Cumulative Years Experience- 13,522
40+- 231

Thats over 13 millenia of experience just from those that have replied! And 231 of those that have replied have over 40 years experience each!!! On a side note, we have a lot of replies with 50 and 60 years experience and a couple with over 70!

There is a wealth of knowledge in this group!

Here since 1970 but got side tracked with 45 colts 11mm, 44-77s and 45-70s for a while too but back to colt 1860 and 1862s now at times.

First started shooting as a kid in 1980 and was really into it for the next ten years.

Then I got back into it around 2000 when I got out of the military, but only for about 5 years before the kids ate up most of my time.

I've been back into it for about 3 years now, so even though I've been exposed to it for 44 years, I'd have to say I've only got 18 years of intermittent experience that coincided with the PA late season.

Seems like we need to find some new folks to start getting into this sport
So what are you doing? At the Florida Frontiesman we actively recruit new muzzleloader participants. We also have members that work with 4H to sponsor a youth muzzleloader program down to having guns to loan them to get them started
We also have knives and tomahawks for anyone to borrow and try. The same with period archery equipment
Just take a kid shooting
