One of the most important things about making mocs is the placement of the hide.
So I would say you need one deer hide, and it needs to be a deer hide that was skinned in the traditional way, IE Gutted. Ive started to see a number of deer hides comming out, most likely from deer that were commercially processed, where they were skinned top down, and thus the best hide for mocs, that being the area over the spine, has been ruined......
If you use one of those hides, you will have really thick flaps, and thin belly leather for your feet, and they will wear out really, really quick
