I get to the range probably 4 times a month on average for the whole year.Lately it's been Flintlock shooting in practice for the up coming Deer season.I'd love to make it a few more times but there just always seems there is other "stuff" happening.Shooting is the greatest stress reliever...well one of them anyway.
How often do you get out to the shooting range?

Every friday and every 2nd saturday.I'm 4-6 hours at the shooting-range.After that i spend hours of cleaning the guns.
:hatsoff:

I try to get out every Sunday morning. Doesn't always happen, but that's my goal.
Practice makes perfect. I hunt New York and PA. and this is my first year with the flintlock, so I want to be prepared to make the best shot possible. I'm finally getting re-adjusted to open sights.

snagg

At least once a week. But to be honest, it's sometime just centerfire

Not often enough do I get to the range, but I shoot nearly every day...you see there are a bunch of pesty squirrels and racoons in my backyard (we live in a rural area) that keep me in practice with a little open sighted Stevens Favorite. I have a couple of flint and perc rifles backlogged so to speak, that I need to fine-tune loads for ....need to go to the range!

Once a month with BP, hopefully that frequency will increase if I ever get powder. :cursing:
Smokey.

Halftail,
When work and Mrs snake allows...On an
average I would say once a month. :cursing:
snake-eyes :hmm:

2-3 times a week.Sometimes once a week.No one likes to go with me,they say I stay to long.

I try to make it every Tuesday -- the average is probably 3 times per month. Like OldArmy, sometimes it is centerfire instead of ML.

Usually once a month for postal matches. On occasion more if its rendezvous time or sighting in for hunting season.

One more thing.I never shot a centerfire as much as I have shot my muzzleloaders.Seems like its alot more fun,and I take more time shooting them.I also enjoy casting roundballs and making the lube and patches. The gun kits were also fun to put together and I wouldnt have that opportunity with a centerfire.

My routine has become every Saturday morning year round until hunting season starts in October, then I'm hunting on Saturdays instead...plus a few holdays or days off thrown in...ie: I shot 50 on Saturday and another 50 yesterday as I was off.

Averaged about 1800 shots the past couple years, but am already at 1600 so I may break 2000 this year...agree with the comment that it's great therapy

I agree Crowhop. Before I got "into" muzzleloading I never shot no where near as much.Nor did I have the notion to_Once or twice a year with centerfire, usually only to get ready for hunting season.Rimfire I would shoot a little more, maybe once a week in the winter time, always at an indoor range.

Once a week on Thursday afternoon/evening. Spend a couple hours on the BP range then head over to the skeet range when it opens at 1800.

I like to get out at least once a week sometimes more, I have to play the weather. As a rule I pack a lunch and spend the day. I could go more often but shooting by yourself isn't that much fun anymore...Jim

I agree, when my son was/is around we shoot about every day.
He puts more rounds downrange in 2 weeks in NH then he did in a year in Iraq.
Course the targets are VERY DIFFERENT. Thank goodness.

Not near enough!...lately I only get out once every couple of months :( . I have two reasons I need to make time very soon:

1. My sanity :shocked2: twitch, twitch :youcrazy:
2. Hunting season is just around the corner! :)

Take care!

usually once a week, on Sunday afternnon, sometimes Sat. afternoon. shoot between 20 - 30 shots. flinch
