Over a period of 50 years or more, I guess I have tried about all of the fixes there are but the best I found is what Eric said, Turn the sight upside down in the vise and expand the base, It's simple and works great. Remember if things go wrong it's better if it's not the barrel that's messed up.

I've always just made a new sight that fits properly. ....of course I don't use "fancy" sights for a rear or front. Both the new front and rear sights are easy to make.....Fred
