Anybody ever seen a double caplock pistol in .54+?

I've had this itch for a Howda sidelock...

I suppose I'd have tohave someone make it for me?

Dixie has right and left locks and pistol barrels. I don't think they have the duct tape to hold it all together.

I have wanted - no, lusted, for a Howda ever since I learned that they existed. But they are out of my price range and building one sounds very complicated.

I also want an African-caliber rifle and I am more likely to get one.

By the way I have absolutely zero use for either, my neighborhood being tiger free. But I want them.

Maybe you can use a hacksaw on both ends of a double barrel shotgun and make it work!

About 30 years ago I did just that. 11 gauge shotgun with a pistol grip type stock. Just sawed off everything that didn't belong. Silver soldered the breech shut, replaced the firing pins with percussion nipples. Made a new forestock out of pine or something. Pretty crude; it's on my list for a rework. But it shows that it can be done.

Interesting. I think, though, if I were to cut anything down it would need thicker metal - like a .58 Double Kodiak. But them's pricy.

I wonder if Pedersoli would build one... Hmmm :hmm:

Here's a few available from Collector's Firearms in Houston, Texas.
