I'm sorry to hear of that, Jim. I feel bad for you. I hope you have a Merry Christmas anyway.

Its going to be only me and the wife this year. We don't even have a Christmas tree up this year. We had planned on having Christmas down in TN with my family but due to illness, we are not going.
Hopefully you'll be healed up and fit enough to ring in the New Year with them all buddy. Maybe even able to pop a cork on some good stump likker😉

Merry Christmas to all the squirrel hunters in here!

May everyone wake up tomorrow and find a Feist squirrel dog under the tree!

Merry Christmas to you and yours Hammer.

Perfect shot for a .36 caliber SMR wouldn't ya say?🤔

Yep! May the squirrel dog Santa brought you have a squirrel treed in the top of the Christmas tree. But, dont shoot it out in the livingroom, you'll put a hole in the ceiling and set off the smoke alarm 🤣...

I've been slowly but diligently working on my wife by throwing out clues as to me getting a squirrel dog. Every time I do, I get a mean look that would have put ole Davy Crockett a running away in fear. This calls for some major thought and strategic planning on my behalf. I don't give up easily. May the force be with me because I foresee a long and drawn out battle ahead. :)

That's where you made a mistake. You should not have mentioned that dog. You simply bring it home like a child and say, but it was complimentary, or I discovered it in a receptacle at the park.

I can only suggest that if you strongly desire a dog, consider purchasing one and introducing it to your home, thereby initiating a potentially contentious discussion. Listen attentively to the entire conversation without interrupting, and when she has finished, simply state your rationale, 'because I want one,' and then promptly retreat to the basement with the dog. Hopefully, if we are fortunate, this approach may lead to a more favorable outcome.

I don't know I didn't ask my mother, I new she would say no. When I got Mr. Ringo I just brought him home.

I can provide assistance, but authorization is required. As you are hunting alone without a partner, it can be a solitary experience. Everyone on the forum with a dog is sharing their positive experiences. However, if you wish to train and hunt with a canine companion, you should inform her and obtain her permission, which is essential to proceed. Please provide pictures of the puppies and the dog you are interested in to her. Go as far as maybe showing emotional appeal, try to think you will never get one because she says no. That might help.

Good luck man,

Inform her that they are acquaintances on the forum who are willing to take the dog as a precautionary measure, in the event that you are unable to retain the puppy.

In considering your upcoming squirrel hunting excursion with a dog, as depicted in various videos, it may be prudent to employ a shotgun, such as the Pedersoli 10ga or the 12g, to ensure a sufficient harvest, as the dog will likely require additional squirrels. Alternatively, the Kibler 20ga flint could be a viable option. As shotguns are my preferred choice of firearm, it is essential to possess a high-quality black powder shotgun, such as the aforementioned options, for this type of hunting excursion.

You could use either or.. I just like shotguns. if you don't already have nice BP double or smoothbore?

Stop flooding this thread with your AI generated posts. Even on Christmas day. You were bad enough before. Now you come back as basically a bot. What in the world is wrong with you?

Ignore list. :)
