Yes, and the bevels were often forged in last, with an open beveling die....like a chisel making die.

Hey all

The knife is ready for heat treat/tempering I figured I would post some pictures for those who have had interest in this thread.

GBlacksmith....You weren't kidding when you mentioned that there would be lots of finish work!
wet/dry sandpaper and Tripoli compound are close friends of mine now :)

I'm a bit nervous about the cracks and warps that might happen with hardening, but I'm just going to have to watch the color close, keep checking with the magnet and take a deep breath before I dunk it in the oil. *sigh*
Note to self-normalize often!

Anyways, hope you like what you see. Feedback and comments good or bad are welcome

Here's to hoping that once you pull it from the oil, it will be all you want it to become. There's obviously a lot of work in her so far, so keep up the nice work!

Hi!

It's been a while....I haven't had ample opportunity to get any serious work done on my blades.
This past week I made sure to find the time to get certain projects wrapped up. This HBC knife has been on top of the pile for too long :)

I also included a link at the bottom which is a short vid of me testing the knife out.

Ha, this was a very fun knife to make with A LOT of trial and error....I've already started roughing out a blade blank for the next one. :)

I'm working on another HBCK myself. I like the way your rivets turned out.

Did you use Oak for the scales?

Knife seemed to chop/cut well..just like a HBCK should.
