@Bigpete Thanks for sharing the story of your hunt.
@Idaho Ron I’ve never of pack goats before. That’s really cool. Goats are smart. When I was a small boy my family lived in sheep country. My dad owned a “lead goat.” It was used to lead sheep on and off trucks double decker sheep trucks. People actually held these lead goats in high regard.

Ferol Goats abound in NZ and are culled by Govt cullers ,I don't rate them as hard to chase but if spooked they do get wary . Can't blame them , The meat is called Chevron in shops or restaurants and unless old rank Billie's they are good to eat usually .Ive hunted them with Matchlocks & Wheel locks & snaphances of 45 cal & 54 .I don't approuve of the BB gun antics that's unnecessary harm . A curious use of 'Husband' Ide call them' Cockies ' But good on you for culling them I was allway happy in SA have friends in Black Forest .
Regards Rudyard
With all do respect have you ever had goats? If so and you never longed for a BB gun than you are a better man than me Gunga Din. When one goat gets bullied by one too much or two goats ganged up on one the BB gun evened things up a bit as I'm not much on bullying, especially at feeding time at since each had his own sweet feed bucket. Besides the old Daisy Red Ryder beat using the Remington 870 I felt like like using sometimes:eek:. They were so well conditioned lots of times just rattling the Red Ryder would break things up 😅. Shooting it empty just to watch them jump was in the name of science, you know, like Pavlov and his dogs :thumb:

Whats hard to understand about the term husband to describe the man married to the woman who granted me access ?
And its chevon, not chevron.
