FFFg seems to flow better to the nipple than FFg as it is finer grained. I always trickle a few granules under the nipple before the first shot of the day. It is a good fail safe method for hunting.

Just come back from the range - First shot = boom! Stored muzzle down. Dry patch - clean, few grains of FFFG into powder drum, nipple back on. Loaded as per usual - all good

Don't know alot about such,i have a cork in the end of my barrel to keeps bugs or spiders out,but i don't get to shoot alot either. One thing i did is buy a nipple prick from a feller some time back on the classifieds, not only is it a darn nice looking tool but the sharpest pointy thing i ever seen!I can't remember who it was, they were handmade with twisted metal design.

I drop by here now and then to get an education,Thanks..

one thing you may want to watch for is somtimes air compressor's will get water in them from condensation, and that water will blow out the hose. so you would be blowing moisture down the barrel, that's not a good thing. just make sure to drain the tank, or install a inline filter on the hose.

Naturally I wipe out my bore before loading it BUT the biggest thing I do to insure first shot performance is to pop some caps with the muzzle pointed at some grass or a leaf of some dirt. When the above move from the flash out the muzzle I fire one or two more and I then know my flash channel is clear and my barrel dry. I never have a FTF using this method. FRJ
