Assuming a person was "strong enough" using a single hand hold. Would a 14 inch barrel be more accurate than a standard 10 inch barrel on a Kentucky style pistol? With quality being equal for both lengths, I see no advantage other than sight radius. Maybe even more barrel jump as the bullet leaves the barrel.

I was thinking of building a wall hanger but, hey, why not find out if it could work as a target pistol as well?

Need some advice from you experts out there, any suggestions?

The extra 4 inches of barrel and the wood that supports it will add weight to the gun, making it more stable to hold on target, the extra weight will also absorb some of the felt recoil, resulting in less barrel jump...

....and, as your eyes get older, don't minimize the importance of that extra 4 inches of sight radius.

Sharpie is right, I have layed aside my 9" trapper and built a 12" KP and the sight picture is much better for me.

I would go for the longer barrel. Sight radius and higher volocity are the main reason but also my preforance in longer barrels. Even my rifle has a long barrel (35")
