It’s just the opposite at the Sportsmans warehouse where I live. First of all, they never carry any caps, but the guy told me I could get them delivered there if I order them online. When I looked online for sportsman’s warehouse, I didn’t even see number 10 caps. All I saw was number 11.
My son was able to pick up some number 10 CCI caps in Texas for me. I know they fit tight on the nipples of my pistol but they’re better than nothing.
You might consider getting a set of TOTW nipples or Slix Springs. Then you could go with either the #11 caps or 10's whichever is available.

Before the cap shortage I saw a 10 pack of cci #10 at a local gun show for several years on a dealers table finally bought it for $5. still got some

I was genuinely and honestly told by a guy working in a gun-shop near me that the cap/powder shortage is "all to do with the war in Ukraine" He had a perfectly straight face and must have used this excuse for everything that was out of stock, (virtually everything I wanted btw!)
When I asked him if the Ukrainian troops were using BP weapons he looked at me like I was senile... Well I am over 65!
I get really p...ed when I hear this lame excuse, over 75% of the shortages of just about anything here in the UK are blamed on this.

Thanks for being gentle. Haha. I’m tired now. Been kicking myself all over the yard.
Go easy on yourself it’s only money. If you don’t spend it it will pile up all over the house and creat a fire hazard. Better to get out and shoot.
Seriously I greatly dislike gougers and try to have nothing to do with them.

At least they must be for what I paid for them.
There’s a black powder and muzzleloading store that was in Orlando FL but now in Sanford.
I have a friend that lives near it so I asked him to stop by and see if they have #10 caps. I live 2 hours away. He was to call me when he arrived in the store since he’s know very little about BP stuff. Well, he didn’t call until he’d already bought what they told him was their last tin of Remington 10 caps.

They charged him $26.95!!!!!!
I am still PO’d. Not at him since he was doing me a favor but I feel like they saw him coming.
What a ripoff. They’ll never get my business again.
I always read about guys buying caps for crazy prices online and I think “not me,” Well it’s my turn to learn a lesson.
I’m gonna thoroughly enjoy shooting every single one of these caps.
Sorry for the rant.
Not to make you feel worse but I couldn’t find cap’s anywhere close by either. The guy st Cabela’s said they haven’t had any for a long time. Then I call a shop and range close and was told they had musket caps and they were only &4.99/tin. Went down and bought five tins and ordered a couple musket nipples. I’m happy as a clam!
I told the owner he was priced under market and he said he knew that but thats all he had in them and doesn’t believe in gouging, that man gets my business !

The motto of our company, shared by many, was - ’you can get better but you can’t pay more’….

I can't believe you people are complaining about $20 for a hundred caps. Look what I found on Gunbroker.com. Only $150 for 3 tins (300) of CCI caps. If you want 6 tins (600 caps), he has an offer for only $300. Get them while they are cheap. He is offering both #10 and #11 caps. Unbelievable!!!

We all carry on about the cost of keeping our hobbies going. My self if I need something, perhaps want would be a better analogy, then I decide buy or no. I paid $94 dollars for 1K of small pistol primers, so I guess I haven’t reached my, fluff that limit yet. Those primers are Turkish by the way, And so far the first 400 have gone bang with good results.

On the other hand if I want to sell something, doesn’t happen often, I want market value with the emphasis on MARKET VALUE. The dealer who sold his last tin for what a buyer was willing to pay is a businessman who will likely remain in business. Just saying.

My local gun shop had a few tins of Remington's last fall. They were marked $24.95. I haven't been there in a bit to see if they sold or not but I expect that they did.

Never thought I would appreciate getting a cap maker as much as I do now. It's worth the tediousness of making them one at a time.
