I.D. old signal cannon

Height abt 8”, Base abt 4”, Bore abt 11/4”, Weight abt 17 lbs. Cast iron. Makes one heck of a boom.

I was hoping someone could shed some light on when, where it was made etc.

I have heard this type of cannon referred to as a “stack gun”. Supposedly placed on the floor of a factory smoke stack and fired to loosen the creosote build up on the walls of the chimney.

If it had a handle like a beer mug it would be referred to as thunder mug.

My research shows it to be a 17th century Austrian signal cannon. Any thoughts?
