That shot was actually pretty typical for a good roundball hit. Sometimes they drop right there, and sometimes they trot off a little ways. Point is, he was dead when the ball hit him. I have a friend who just killed one with an '06, and it went even farther than yours, with a good lung hit. You did everything right, and your load is right on the money. :thumbsup: Bill

Being able to pull off a shot on the ground and that close to a deer without spooking him made missing those two does earlier in the season easier to swallow.

Trench, it takes steady nerves to keep calm and take a deliberate shot like that, on the ground and with the deer in your face. That's the mark of a hunter. I think the deer are in trouble, now.
