I couldn't resist, new .40 Southern coming from TVM. It was hanging on the rack at the Gunmakers Fair and needed a new home. I had to chew on it for awhile and ordered it Wednesday.

As soon as the deal was done, I was on Track's website to order up supplies. May have to put the .45 up for sale to cover. That was the deal I made with my wife. Of course now that it's on it's way she said I don't have to if I don't want. Have to love a woman like that and have for 25 years.

I have a friend who just brings a new rifle into the house. If his wife asks, he just says "oh, this has been out in the garage for a long time. Just bringing it in to clean it a little". Seems to have worked so far! :rotf:

 Once I snuck a new flinter into the house rolled up in a new living room carpet. The flintlock pistol came in the box with the new cushions for the lawn chairs. A little forethought works every time. I don't know how the hell she got the new car in the garage though. Vern

Probably rolled it right in while you were out at the range chuckling over our new goodies.

I haven't been married all that long, but I know that wives can outfox husbands any day of the week.

I horse traded a mossberg 342 bolt action rifle 22 cal that I had 53.00 into for a mint condition 50 cal hawken on our weekend away from the kids a few weeks back. I showed her the gun and she said Oh I love my new gun. then she tried to shoulder it and said it was too heavy. I replied Well I will just have to keep trying till I find you a muzzleloader that fits. I am out of guns I will part with any suggestions for a hunting muzzleloader that will fit a 5 foot tall woman? I do not see any.45 cal cherokees or senecas I can afford.

I have a Crockett that I don' use any more.

I am sure she would love it.

Shoot me a PM and we can work something out - less than $300.

If it turns out she wants a .50 I've got a little Pederoli Cub she might like in that range also. PM me if she wants a larger bore.

congrats on your new rifle... i've always had a soft spot for that particular style.

go out and make good smoke!

Yea some wifes know guns and some don't. My wife doesn't. One day my oldest son came home from college and asked if he could take his gun to a friends to shoot. I told him since he was 22 he really didn't have to ask to take his own gun anymore. When he returned he asked: "where did all of the guns in the gun room come from?" Since my wife was standing there I told him they were JOHNY'S's guns that I had cleaned up for him. After my wife left the room he said " Those aren't Joihyny's guns his are always a mess, those are nice new guns! What the wife doesn't know doesn't hurt her!

i must be lucky. my wife is helping me buy my new rifle and all im buying for her is a house and her car.

That seems to be the way it goes. I'm thankful that my wife enables my addiction, but in turn I have to enable hers - like furniture, a superfluity of kids' toys, etc.

I am a very lucky man, my wife has an interest in all my hobbies to a point. I was looking at a new Lyman 54 cal. She paid for it. I took her to look at a new Bird dog pup. She said she would buy it for our anniversary. Now if I could get her to go look at new Pickup trucks with me!!!

My wife helped me buy my cap and ball revolver I'm getting for my birthday. It was a lot of fun, she shoots better than I do anyway. Worse part is that I've got to wait until the end of the month to play with it. It is fun when the family gets involved.
