I just want to make some noise, what's the least expensive cannon that'll make enough that you know it's not just fireworks? :)

Big E, as fas as big bangs go, 350grams of BP makes one HUGE explosion. :surrender: :surrender: Take note that this is shot out of a proper full size 6 pounder carronade.

One thing i learned from these guys, when you are going to put fire to explosives, dont cut on expenses. Your life is worth much more than a few extra $$$. Get yourself a proper cannon made out of proper steel by a reputeable manufacturer. :hatsoff: :v

Here is a pretty interesting cannon from Traditions!

Old Ironsides Nearly 3 times heavier than its little brother, the Mini Old Ironsides, this .69 caliber has the look and feel of a working piece of artillery.

Product Code: CN8052
Status: In Stock

Our Price: $249.00

I definately want to get something that's built properly!

The Traditions site only specs a max charge of 85 gr. I could do that with a musket. What's available that's BIGGER?

You can search on this site, cannon mania.

Go with at least a 1" bore!

I shoot a 1" bore cannon, and use around 3-500 grains of powder, and it makes the ground shake!

Big E,

What is least expensive to you? I have that .69 cannon that was mentioned. The 85 grns is for a projectile, I use about 150 for blanks and its pretty loud. Also, for it's size, it's a pretty strong shooter as far as throwin lead, only series of cannons that I know of that uses a patch for the ball.. The nice thing about it is that it's a little over 9 pounds, so it's easily moved about or transported. It's built like a tank aswell. Great value!

There are many cannons available, just depends on your price range. You can get a lot of bang for the buck if you buy barrel only and build the truck yourself.

Take double note: That 350 gram charge is about 12 ounces of powder! Don't mistake that for 350 grains. Artillerists use different terminology than small arms shooters!

That is a ten four. We shoot a full size 6 pounder cannon and the charge is almost half a kilo of FFg. Its big its expensive and it makes the earth shake...
