Today at 11 AM I had my rotator cuff reattached and I am damm sore. The orthopedic surgeon let me know that I will not be able to hold a rifle for eight weeks. Up until today I been going out shooting every chance I got, knowing it would be a long time before I would have a chance to go again so from everybody out there I would like to hear a big AWWWWW:boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:

POOOO Baby! :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:

You asked for it!
"The Chuckster"

:boohoo: Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww that sucks!
I never had that surgery and don't want to.
I have however had 2 broken backs, my right arm shattered into 8 peices, broken fingers, poisoned in 2 fires, 13 workers comp claims, yadda, yadda, yadda.
So I really do feel bad for ya.
The worse was the broken arm. I couldn't shoot a rifle or pistol for 3 months. :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:
I hope you heal up soon. :D

roaddog, sorry to hear that. :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo: There is a bright side however... In eight weeks you'll be a shootin' again. :) :) :)

:boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:Sorry to hear that :boohoo: :boohoo: :boohoo:
We'll all go out and do a little extra shootin' just for you ::
Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Huntin

Heal fast then shoot straight. Don't complain to much. At the some of the Rendezvous we go to they watch everone all year and at the end of the year the biggest complainer gets the wa-wa award. It is a hand carved baby pacifier, neckless, the winner get to be the commitee that picks next year lucky(?) winner. My wife won it last year and she is looking for revenge this year. It's all in fun, and makes for some great stories, but be careful asking for a pity party, you might get one. :: :: :: ::
No Powder

Thank you for your sympathies. Pain while I'm standing or sitting down is nill, but of course it helps that they put me on some good dope. I Have Been Reduced to sleeping in a lazy boy.

I feel sorry for anybody that needs a pity party.
That should cover it.
BTW best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Roaddog: Jus thin o the bryt side. Maybe this wal give ye a little more time ta hang out har an keep us company. Why ye can thin up a bunch o questions an then watch all o the debates get a goin. Jus do Ole Zonie a favor an don't ask nothin bout Huntin Regs an how they should rit. We jus finished that fite (Ah hopes).

Musketmen just sent me a pm. An update on my rotator cuff surgery is long overdue.

Well, the first seven days were a living hell. If I had any sleep at all it was in a straight back chair. They gave me some pretty good dope (hydrocodone) but all it did was knocked the edge off of the pain. Since then every week I have more movement in the arm, I'm only able to fire the rifle with my elbow propped against my body or powderhorn (club match rules, your elbow should be at least six inches from your side) but everybody in the club understands my predicament.

This week I just started OT (occupational therapy) I'll have it Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the next month, at the end of that time my orthopedic surgeon will determine whether I can go on "light-duty", right now I'm on "clerical only" , because my boss has nothing for me to do in the office I've been home for the last four months. Part of the things I do at work includes climbing ladders, opening and closing dumps with large crank handle, both of these have been called no no's by my doctor into I returned to full duty.

When it comes to shooting I'm back to 100 percent (I got first choice at the last blanket shoot) but riding a motorcycle and shooting bow will have to wait while.

If anything new happens I'll keep everybody posted thanks for all your sympathies

Jim

It's nice to know that you are able to shoot before you are able to work heavy duty...

it's a long road to haul, good thing your rifle don't have a pointy butt plate...

Road dog, my wife had the same surgery in December, they just told her last week that they think they retore it during therapy. She may have to go through it all over again.

sorry to hear you've been out of comission RD. I missed the first series of posts and didn't know. Seems I was in the hospital having myself a heart attack about that time and not on the computer much for a couple of weeks there.
It's odd to realize we're old enough to be wearing out parts, but at least we live in a time when they can sometimes be replaced. Even if they are not 100% we can still function. Hope you make a full recovery.

she cussed a lot first, then she cried. I know from my wifes experience what you must be going through and you are on my prayer list. Hope you get back to shootin' real soon. Thats a very hard surgery to go through. get well.
