I went to the local gun show to hand out flyers for a local clubs rendezvous. And got to talking to a man who had a 45 T.C. Hawkin for sale. He noticed my sweat shirt. (local muzzle loading club logo ) and we got to talking. He said he had given his Cherokee to his son who was looking for something heavier. I left him my card and a generous offer for the Cherokee (cash plus a T.C. Hawkin ) Now all I can do is wait!& Hope! (Praying is for more important things than toys! )

I wown't be as happy as the grandson! The biggest mistake in guns I ever made was selling the cherokee that I had for my boys to a man who wanted it for his kids. The oldest girl shot one year and quit and the other kids didn't take up the sport.

Congrats on a Great find! Here is the .36 cal
I recently bought:

Did the Cherokee come in .36? I have never seen one. I have two Cherokees in .32 and two in .45. I have the Seneca in .36 and also in .45. If they did come in .36, I would sure want one or at least the barrel.

Thanks Cable for the info. Do you know if the Seneca came in .32? I enjoy hunting with the Cherokee .32, but I like the longer barrel of the Seneca. I have a Seneca in .36 and .45 now. I think the .32 would be a great addition to the collection.

like the .36 cherokee, the .32 barrel was never listed for the seneca, but i know someone who has 2 of them, and it is likely more rare than the .36 cherokee. i sure would like to have one myself. i like the longer barrel and longer sighting radius as well as the look.

no, i have one, got it a few years ago, and think i paid just over $100.00.......sure glad i got it : )
wish i could find a .32 barrel for one of my senecas too! I use the senecas and the cherokee when we teach boy scouts and have our annual boy scout turkey shoot with muzzleloaders. they are both just gem dandy little rifles for anyone but esp. for the smaller 11 year old scouts.

You did well then. I was the one that paid the high price. Now I have all three calibers in Chreokee. Like you, I wish I could find the .32 Seneca. Then I would have all three of those. I am going Squirrel hunting with my Chreokee .32 May first. I will not have time to sight in the new .36 before that time. Thanks for giving me the heads up on the Ebay auction. If I ever run into two .32 for the Seneca, I will let you know. LOL

Unfortunatly I have not heard from the man. He seemed really interested, but it was his son's choice. I assume I'll end up building the grandson a rifle patterned after the cherokee. I have two 13/16 th 45 caliber barrels, pattent breeches, and lots of premium walnut for stocks and a lock to copy so maybe next winter I'll see what the back is like. And try to do some gun building. He is only six so I've still got time to build.I lost most of this last winter to back problems but I am starting to get up and about.
