I bought a very nicely cared for Cherokee 45 cal. rifle late last summer. I made the mistake of letting my sister use it for target practice and she fell in love with it. Won't shoot anything else now. What I found most interesting about this little rifle, is that it came with a factory mounted tang peep sight. I thought that was pretty cool and the main reason I bought the rifle to begin with.

Ohio ramrod
I got a Cherokee and Seneca when they first came out then waited almost 30 years before I found my second ones. I was in my local gunshop and they had one of each and I originally was only going to get the Seneca but then they offered me both at a very good price so got both of them.
One has a scope on it and the other is still original.
Now I am looking for a Cherokee in 45 and a Seneca in 45 just cause I can. I am also looking for a 54 and 58 caliber Hawken just because I can.
So that makes 4 black powder rifles for me to buy.

I finally got the stock in for the Cherokee 36 I bought. Even though it wa a kit gun, the person who put it together did it right. It is a beauty. I now have all three calibers in the Cherokee. I am looking for a Seneca in 32 now. If I can find that one I will consider it the grand slam.
