after playing with my old .577 trying to get it to shoot with the repro brass scope.I took it off and just to try open sights I stuck an old 22cal. rear sight on it and it finally grouped. Before it would put a couple together than throwem all over and then put a couple back together.
Think I'm going to put a set of full buckhorns on the back and a thick brass blade up front.

I am goin to take a shot in the dark here. The reproduction brass scope was not easy to get the same sight picture every time. With the open sight your eye is picking up the same sight picture and your group is relecting it.
Ain't it great when it all comes together!

The scope mounts are junk and have a tendency to to move ever so slightly which means several inches down range.
