That was until I got my new Uberti 1851 Navy London. As you can see the Pietta on top with the Uberti on the bottom how different the grips are. I find the Uberti grip much nicer.

Nope. It’s just a bit closer to the original (or, some of the originals, form) and it’s blued steel. I prefer the look personally.

I have one of those Uberti London models, great gun. I also have an Uberti 1860 Army, Its becoming my favorite. One of these days, im going to order a steel trigger guard and make it a London model. I think that will only make a great gun that much better. Enjoy your Londons!

I don’t have the London model but I have two Uberti 1851s - one proofed in 2005 and the other with a five-inch barrel proofed in 2014. They both have sweet actions, perfect timing, and are accurate, too. I have tried to buy only Ubertis because they make an effort to minimize modern markings (e.g., “DON'TUSE SMOKELESS POWDER YOU *****”). The proof marks are very faint and Uberti places their name on the bottom of the barrel, hidden by the loading lever. I love my Ubertis!

IMHO, the all steel London models are just nicer all the way around. I have a bunch from both makers and my Pietta 1851 London is one of the nicest.

I have an almost new Uberti percussion Remington, 2002 vintage and I’ve never fired it yet.
I just had it out of the safe and had a play with it, it’s very well made and the action is sweet and locks up perfectiy.

I’ve just gotta shoot it soon - - - next range day !

It's a really nice one! I carry it often during hunting season.
