Rod in the Rifle:
I prefer the rod no longer than the barrel when housed within the guides and stock. I have enough trouble with longer rifles that seem to bang into everything that anything extra sticking out further just gets that much more in the way.

I drag along a 4-6" 10/32 rod extension and tapered loading jags. I also have a T-handle adapter.

Range Rod: As long, rugged and as easily held on to as I can get.

:thumbsup:

I have the same need for "dragging along" that extra extension for my smoothie...I hate that part when I'm on a clay target range, but when I'm hunting, that little bit of extra time to "assemble" the rod has not been a problem...however, I still live in constant fear that I'm someday going loose that extension, because I need it for the rod to bootom out on the shot, or ball.

I've thought about getting a Bess rod, and leaving that 4+ inches sticking out.....it ain't going to happen, I don't think.

Hey Roundball do they have them that long and tapered like that?

Not saying they don't I've just never seen them 3.5" to 4" long.

Chuck

I have bought a couple of them from TC in all three calibers, use them every week...called the "Extended Super Jag"

.45cal = Item # 7227
.50cal = Item # 9087
.54cal is not listed in the calalog anymore but they probably still have plenty

10/32" threads...3+3/4" long

Is that a centerfire shotshell.....

I was in a rush to figure out how to post a picture, and that was the first thing that I found for a reference that I'm certain everyone here would be familiar with.

I think your just jealous 'cause I found a good use for one of those things. :blah:

MM,
:hmm: Is that measure made out of plastic and brass?
:nono:

Huntin

Brass, and the bottom of it was blackend...

Nevermind...

Hmmm.....looks just like the one I recently bought and the black is delrin. I just use it at home filling paper cartridges. Use a horn measure in the field.

Blackened brass huh????? I think my left leg is getting a little bit long...let go of it would ya?
