I just picked up an older cv pistol in surprisingly good condition. It is a two digit serial number so it has to be pretty old. Here is the issue, it will not set off cci no. 11 caps unless you fire it four or five times. If I hold the hammer all way back , depress the trigger and release the hammer it goes off every time. If I use cci musket caps it goes off every time. If I had a replacement spring that I knew was compatible, I would replace it, otherwise I will just use musket caps for it. It still shoots well offhand.
any suggestions?

Try screwing the nipple out a little. If it works, fit a small washer under as a permanent fix.

Remove the nipple from the gun and try a #11 cap on it. It should go on all the way with light pressure and be removable. If not chuck the thread part in a drill and carefully file the cone till the cap will fit. The try it on the pistol to see if it sets the cap off.
I did what you said, chucked it into a drill and ran it on a file. Put it back in and ran caps without problem. I’m in busuness now, thanks.
