My apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, but I am looking for some identification/load advice on this rifle. It was my grandfathers, there are no markings that I can see anywhere on the rifle, it’s .45 with very faint but fast rifling, about 1:12” by my measurements. (Which adds to the identification confusion) Obviously this barrels is suited to conicals, so I may try a few different loads. Mostly curious if anybody knows the origins of this classy looking piece. I’m guessing it may be an ultra high or something along those lines. If I can find a good load for it, I may be looking into upgrading the sites if anyone has any suggestions, as it’s all I have, I may start with a light load and this conical.
Thank you in advance.

The bullets you picture have a lube suitable to smokeless powder that should be removed and replaced with a black powder lube. You will difficulty loading after the first shot. I’m surprised that you have such a fast twist.

Based on lock plate, position of the large brass piece for the 2 piece stock, I'm thinking ultra-hi miroku. They made 45 cal guns but wouldn't suspect they had a fast twist. How did you measure the twist?

Additionally, I don't think the conicals go with that gun. .451 is the standard for reloading 45 ACP, which explains the modern lube for smokeless.

Good catch on the lube, I will scrape it off and use appropriate lube before trying those if I do. And definitely no plans to try smokeless. I did find “Spain” stamped on the inside of the lock plate.
To measure twist rate I marked a cleaning rod, and ran it down until it made one full twist, it measured about 12 3/8”. (Very unlike my other rifles which are 1:48 (.50), 1:66 (.50), and 1:66 (.45) this on I never could get any kind of group with round balls, I had 2 .45 sabbots in my possession, I fired them at 50yds, 50g of pyrodex p, and without much effort they were a couple inches apart. PRB would be about a 15” group at that distance
