Three hours for two birds in the rain!
Jess and I sheltered under a large oak for two of the three hours as the heavens opened up! I missed a few birds, had misfires and wound up with just two birds. Enough to feed Jess for a day.
Once it eased up raining and the sun started to set we went home after discharging the last barrel.
Fortunately I was wearing some wool and that large oak meant I was still quite comfortable.
By the time we got home the gun was covered in flash rusting and a deep deep clean was needed.
Muzzleloading in difficult conditions just seems to drawe somehow .
