In a weak moment I purchased this English double barrel shotgun on Auction Arms item number 8794399.

I own a couple front action English percussions, but this is the first back action shotgun that I have owned and though it needs a bit of TLC to fix the broken stock and a few other things. The condition, however, is surprisingly good for the age and price. When I was dissassembling it this afternoon I noticed that the locks are very heavily curved to fit the stock curvature. Though I have never owned any other back action percussion guns I thought this was a neat trick and the locks are superb quality. All in all I am pleased with the gun and I'll have to get a few more pictures up when I get some time.

That's a beauty. You got quite a deal on it too. I'll be interested to see it when you get it restored. I have a fondness for English doubles and sporting guns.

A nice looking double... will be interested in seeing the results of your restoration. A VERY good price too.
