Tale of Two Barrels Trade Rifle come to a buyer near you.
This rifle has have a rough life. Thinking, it was purchased by someone wanting to build the muzzleloader. The barrel is in high good condition. But not to be ignored. The stock is solid with an oil finish. The brass was produced with intentionally ugly cast imperfections. The tang, when router out, was to deep in the front. For the barrel to be installed the breech well was chiseled out to install. It was assembled anyway. As a result the gun shot high. The owner installed a peep sight (with a hand drill) and shorter front sight. Still shot high. There isn't a rear sight now but, one is coming and well be installed soon. I'll picture. Owner gave up, sold on Gun Broker to me. I shimmed up the tang with epoxy.
No excuses, I have not shot it. I bought another barrel in .50 to have two calibers in one stock. It needs work, too. Some white metal needs bluing. Maybe some work on the inside of the barrel.
In my opinion, this is not a gun and barrel for someone without skills or has someone willing to work and teach. Ask, comment, highlight, buy. Thanks, Steve
