They look like the same rifle in many respects. Both will make terrific deer hunting guns. I tend toward the traditional side so I'd be shooting the carbine. Whichever appeals to YOU should be the deciding factor.

Investarms make good quality guns. They are the company that makes the Great Plains Rifle. I have one of the .50 Hawken Hunters that is in the process of being bored out to a .58ca/.24ga smoothbore.

I’m quite fond of most Investarms percussion guns. I’ve only handled and owned the older ones. I think they are the same quality as T/c guns. And can often be found at a discount.

Same. My first ever muzzleloading rifle was a Investarms Hawken (Charles Daly labeled) in .54. Great gun, and it has never failed. I still have it nearly 50 years later, and it shoots better than I can. Just before deer season this year, at 100 yards, I fired 3 prb's that all were touching (not cloverleafed, just touching the circle) the quarter sized red bullseye. I was using a plastic tool box for a rest, and aiming 7" high, as it is sighted dead on at 50 yards. Love my Investarms rifles!

Investarm lost the contact to build GPRs for Lyman to Pedersoli (before Lyman got out of the business) quite some time ago reportedly because of quality issues. Can not personally speak to current Investarm’s quality.

I love my investarm, it’s a 45. I bought it new and it is very accurate. I did make quite a few cosmetic changes.

I have fired the Deerstalker and I found it to be reliable and accurate. I have no experience with the carbine.

I nave a cabella's hawken in 50 and a Santa Fe hawken in 36 by Investarms and both shoot great.
I did replace the nipples but that's it.
