Investarms gemmer stock identification?

Anybody know what wood they use? It is pretty light when I do the water sunlight test

The Gemmer Hawken pictures I've seen look like Sapele.

I just bought a kit from Investarms, Gemmer Hawken. It is not Beech, looks like walnut but does not smell like Walnut. Don't know whar Sapele is.

Sapele looks very much like mahogany.

Sapele grain throws light in odd ways that a lot of other woods do not.

I assume that they still use European walnut which can be nearly as light colored as maple.

I'm in the later stages of finishing one now. Definitely not any kind of walnut, foreign or domestic. Used Laurel Mountain Walnut stain & finish and it came out better than I expected.

Yeah.

When a company says Hardwood, it ain't walnut. If it were walnut, they'd showcase that fact.

Cuzz gun owners know and love walnut stocked firearms.

It does look like Mahogany, I do like it.
