Is the Brown Bess good for hunting?

My first flintlock was a Pedersoli Brown Bess Carbine kit…got it on close out from Dixie GunWorks.

Great shooter…it’s taken 2 deer, a pile of geese, lots of doves, pheasants, and goodly amount of rabbits & squirrels.

Any concerns I might have entertained about the Brown Bess being a sub-performing hunting firearm have been adequately addressed.

My neighbor gave me a brown Bess carbine. So far I’ve shot a 8 point buck and a gobbler on a spring turkey hunt.
