i just talked to Jack at TVM and after talking to him I ordered a Tennessee style "poor boy" but with a butt plate and a P+ maple stock, end cap, and large lock, .50 cal GM barrel "in the white" so I can finish and blue/brown.
It is going to be a little over $600 and he said he could have it ready in 3 months max.
I was very impressed. I sent him a couple of e-mails they were answered promply and when I talked to him on the phone he listened to what I wanted and what I could afford to spend and then made a few suggestions about what to buy.
I am sure I am going to be happy with it.
h told me prices have been going up on all parts, so I am glad I ordered when I did.
I also told him he was getting high praise on this forum.

I am pretty sure that what he told me.....
$595 for the regular "in the white' and I Added a few extras- funny how that happens- so It might be closer to $700
He is sending me a conformation with the details so I will know exactly what the bill will be then.
I think thats still a good price and I am very happy. I can finish it the way I like, without having to get in over my head and ruining a stock.
It going to be a wait, but it's not like I am going to be shooting it until spring. It's 20 below 0 today and we have 7 hours of total daylight.

Great! Maybe Jack will join our Forum and lend some of his wisdom to us all.

The way I see it, having a large number of recognized knowledgeable people on this Forum is good for the creditability of the information here.

Of course, we already have some members who Everyone Knows, but because they go by aliases we often don't know who we are talking to.
Perhaps someday, some of them will change their made up names to their real names (or the names we are widely fimilar with) so we know who we are talking to, but until that time comes, it's a good idea to be pretty sure of what you say.

Oh, perhaps if Jack joins us, he will have as much fun here as I do. If that happens and he spends as much time here as I do, you can stretch your delivery time out by about 6 months. :(

Zonie,
I hope I didn't offend any one.
I was so excided to be ordering my first hand made American made flintlock. I guess I wasn't paying close attention to the final cost.
Which is why I wrote the correction.
My applogies
