It’s taken a couple years and lots of dedication/priority under the confines of having a large family and small budget but I’m glad I have enough accoutrement on hand to have a few years of muzzleloader hunting and shooting ready. I was lucky/unfortunate enough to see the current crunch coming for years. Traditional muzzleloader shooting is such a small priority to such manufacturers that getting what we need is going to get far worse before it gets better I’m afraid.

I hope y’all are having an okay summer and your predicament is in good cheer!

Recently have been shooting primarily flintlocks, so not that well stocked up with percussion and musket caps, only somewhere between 6k and 7k plus caps on hand. For a minimal user, believe I have it covered. Call it a reserve if flint somehow becomes scarce. Unlikely, but guess I need to be prepared. I keep my blackpowder supply replenished, so my powder supply is covered. I have more lead that I can easily move, let alone mold up and shoot. Molds for everything I own and shoot, plus others I would like to shoot. Supplies will likely outlast me. And the next generation has not yet completely bought into blackpowder or muzzleloaders , so probably covered for the duration. Always hopefully, and subject to change….
