I still have to make the one main spring and both scear springs. I'm also going to make new scears as, even though these ones aren't done, I can see that I'm not going to like them. Then the whole lock will need to be finished and polished. Lotta work to go yet. BTW, it doesn't show in the picture but I made the tumbler with TWO stops, one on each of the upper two bridle screw posts so with the shoulder on the cock it has three points of contact to stop the rotation. Even though I didn't have to make the hard parts (plates, cocks, frizzens), I'll still have about as many hours into these by the time they're done as it takes to build a carved, inlayed and engraved longrifle from a blank. Then they have to be made up into a sxs. Easy to see why sxs's cost so much

I prefer the term " component parts set ", by the time you inlet the lock, tang, triggers, pipes, patchbox, nosecap, buttplate, toe plate and side plate, cut the slots for the sights, and pin tennons, drill for the flash hole, case harden the lock, carve and engrave it it is a far cry from any kit I ever seen :yakyak:
Thems that say anything not built from a blank is a kit is just plain :bull: :youcrazy:
