KyFlintlock,
No need to apologize, at least to me. Every
kid growing up had the best dog in the world. Mine was
a beagle named Susie. She could not hunt worth a s...
but she sure was good company and she loved being with
me during my rabbit hunts. She did once catch a cock
pheasant about knee high as it was taking flight and
that was one more than i got that day.
I had her breed with a beagle of a friend
of my dads' twice and they were all excellent hunters,
but Susie was mine and the best dog in the whole world.
I am about 1 1/2 months from my 60th year
and i don't ever remember a day that i did not have a
dog. I currently have a basset hound and one of the best
feelings of my day is Deuce greeting me when i come home
from work.
Now look who is rambling :sorry:

You captured the essence of a lab perfectly. I lost my old lab hunting companion 9 years ago at the age of 14 1/2. Another look I love is that "locked on look" they get when spotting or marking waterfowl. Very intense.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments.... And i know the "locked-on" look you speak about....it is awesome. I think that pointers are also cool when they lock-up on point and back each other......

hmmmm......[wink]
