Since there has been a thread running showing a 1963 Navy Arms engraved #3 being shot out to 100 yards and not too many are showing any open tops revolvers lately I figured I would put up some photos of a couple of my early engraved Navy Arms 1851's. The lower grade engraved is a 1968 and the higher grade is 1967. Both are very low 200 serial number and seven digits apart. His was 1963 and #3 and these are 67-68 and only low 200. They didn't make very many of these hand engraved revolvers each year. The Italians stopped producing hand engraved revolvers around 1980 as the cost got to high for the engraving. Imagine what it would cost in today's dollars to hand engrave one of these.
