Looking for a source for mainspring for a J. Henry & Son .32 cal rifle. Rifle was made around 1860-65. Would appreciate any leads for this antique piece.

Send your lock to the Log Cabin Shop in Lodi OH; the gunsmith there can fit a new mainspring at reasonable cost.
Yes I have the original. Lock is pretty worn. Probably will put a bushing in the tumbler hole.
if you have the original spring and its not broken you could retemper it if its weak , if broken you may be able to match one up or have one made.
Original spring is nowhere to be found. Would have to make a new one.
Got the wood cleaned down to the original finish. Barrel shows rifling but is still hard on cleaning patched. Need to work on it a little more. About half way down the bore it is a little rough. Double set triggers work fine. Ordered a mainspring from DGW. Don’t think it is going to be possible to get the nipple out without twisting it off. It holds a cap and works fine. Will leave it alone until necessary to replace. Ordered a mainspring from DGW. Will see how it acts next week.
