I've been reworking one for a friend. I wish I'd made a before and after picture. Taking the browned finish off, removing some excess wood, and staining the stock with Fiebings leather dye made it look very presentable. I got a pipe tomahawk forged from a gun barrel in exchange for the work. I've thought about offering a refinishing service for muzzleloading guns. It's fun!

Sapwood, knots, and Acuraglass were abundant. It looks pretty good now. It has a Siler lock, acorn final triggerguard, iron furniture, and a sliding wood patch box.

I does shoot good and has accounted for many tree rats and Redcoats.

Everyone has their own set of standards. In my opinion, Mr. Garners work leaves a lot to be desired, and I have seen a number of them. I have also reworked a few that would barely function as they were. The best I can say for them, is that they are better than many of the cheap imports.

Here are the after pics. It looks darker in real life.
